Stewarding Our University’s Voice
Dear Staff and Faculty,
The University of Texas at Austin has an extraordinary history and mission. This calls for clarity and intention in how we tell our story. The Vice President for Communications and Brand Strategy is a cabinet-level role responsible for leading campus-wide communications and shaping a unified voice that reflects our greatness. I am pleased to announce that Patrick Wiseman will assume this position, effective immediately.
Since he began serving as UT’s interim communications leader in November, Pat has become a trusted advisor to me and all our University leaders. He has advanced many of our highest priorities, from promoting our research excellence, to celebrating defining milestones, to protecting the integrity of our brand. He has also been instrumental in our efforts to build and maintain public trust.
Pat is deeply committed to The University of Texas. He has spent the last 13 years on the Forty Acres after leading successful teams at two major private research universities. As Executive Director of Communications and Marketing in the Cockrell School of Engineering and later Associate Vice President for Strategic Communications in the Tower, he earned widespread trust from faculty, staff, researchers, and administrative leaders. He understands the value of each of our colleges and schools, and he knows what our entire University means to the people of Texas and our nation.
Pat is the right leader to serve as the steward of our institutional voice. I am grateful he has accepted this important responsibility.
Hook ’em!
