Dear Faculty and Staff,

I am pleased to announce the faculty members from across our campus who will serve as the inaugural President’s Faculty Advisory Cohort. This distinguished group of faculty members will advise University leadership and support key academic functions across the Forty Acres. Each member was chosen for their exceptional academic leadership, the trust and respect of their colleagues, and their deep commitment to our mission. They reflect the extraordinary breadth of our University, drawn from each of our colleges and schools.

You can view the full list of members on the President’s Faculty Advisory Cohort webpage.

Along with the President’s Faculty Advisory Board — with whom I have met regularly throughout the semester — this new cohort will advise me, Provost Inboden, and other members of our leadership on important issues and opportunities concerning the University. In addition to meeting as a full cohort, members may be invited to participate in smaller committees, task forces, and working groups addressing specific institutional priorities, including curriculum development, educational and technology policy, faculty review processes, grievance and appeals procedures, and library and academic resource policies.

I am grateful to our deans and senior faculty members for their thoughtfulness in nominating their peers for the cohort. To ensure service on the Faculty Advisory Cohort remains both meaningful and manageable, members have been invited to serve a renewable two-year term.

The University of Texas at Austin is home to the best faculty in the world. Their guidance and wisdom strengthens our academic mission and advances our entire University’s mission to serve students, patients, and the people of Texas. I look forward to the contributions of the President’s Faculty Cohort and thank them for their service.

Sincerely,

Jim Davis
President
