Welcome to A New Year
Dear Students,
Welcome to your first day of classes. The start of the school year is here. There’s energy and excitement across the Forty Acres, and our faculty and staff are ready for you. Campus is fully alive.
Enjoy yourself this semester. Try new things. Get to know the people and places around you. If you pay attention to this place, you will discover that it has limitless opportunities and possibilities. Make the most of what you find.
To our newest Longhorns, welcome to Texas. To those who have been here, welcome back. No matter when you got to campus, what you chose to study, or when you plan to graduate — remember that you are Longhorns together. You are part of an extraordinary University at an extraordinary moment in time.
Today is a new beginning. And what starts here changes the world. See you on campus.

Dear Faculty and Staff,
Campus is fully alive. There’s energy and excitement across the Forty Acres as we welcome our students back. Some of them are returning to campus. Others are here for the very first time. Welcome to the start of a new school year.
Moments like this remind us why we first chose to come to Texas. We get to be part of a flagship University with a mission as big and bold as our state. The work we do here matters — it matters to us, it matters to students, it matters to Texas and the world.
You can see it and feel it today. I hope you will carry that feeling with you for the rest of the semester. Let this first day be a reminder to make every day matter.
Thank you for all that you do to build our great University.
Hook ’em!
