Dear Students,

Congratulations on reaching the end of spring classes. I want to wish you well with final exams and thank you for the insight and experiences you have shared with me during my first couple of months as Interim President.

Talking with students across campus has quickly become one of my favorite parts of this job. You have deepened my understanding of student life and offered ideas that will help make the University even better. I have seen your dedication to excellence in your academic work and your energy for everything Longhorn. I have also heard about the unique challenges of being a student at this place and in this moment. All those conversations will help as we chart the future of this University together.

Thank you for the time you’ve taken to share your perspective with me — those discussions have meant a great deal. I am prouder than ever to be a Longhorn and deeply optimistic about the path ahead. Finish strong. If you are graduating, I will see you at our University-Wide Commencement. Otherwise, I look forward to welcoming you back to the Forty Acres in August.

Hook ’em!
